Questions
Which paints does it work with?
Six mediums: acrylic, oil, watercolor, gouache, tempera and soft pastel. Each recipe comes with dry time, blending notes and tips for that medium. Read the medium guides.
How is the match score worked out?
Take a photo of your mixed paint. The app compares it with your target color and gives a percentage, a letter grade and the ΔE color difference.
What's free and what's PRO?
Picking colors, recipes and step-by-step mixing are free. PRO adds AI tips on each step, Read aloud and recipes built from your own pigments.
Can I match a color from a photo or object?
Yes. Point the camera at anything and it reads the color live. You can also type a hex or RGB value.
Which languages are supported?
The app, its recipes and Read aloud are available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Vietnamese, plus 30+ more. It uses your device language automatically.
Does it work on iPad?
Yes. On iPad the Mix screen splits into two panes, with your colors on one side and the recipe on the other.
